The Szczawno-Zdrój resort is a small town situated in the mountains, in south-western Poland, in the region of Lower Silesia.
The resort is located in the picturesque area of the Sudety Mountains, at the foot of Old Chełmiec Mountain (869 meters above the sea level), in the Szczawnik Stream Valley, surrounded by the Wałbrzych Mountains and the foothill of Wałbrzych.
Szczawno-Zdrój resort is richly endowed by nature with its picturesque landscape, mountainous microclimate, fresh, clean air as well as the healing alcaline acidic mineral waters, the healing qualities of which were discovered already in the Medieval Ages.
Szczawno-Zdrój is dominated by the beautiful, cosy style of little resort villas and hotels with many historic buildings and monuments.
Among the most famous monuments and historic buildings of the Szczawno-Zdrój resort are: The Spring House, The Mineral Water Drinking House, The Walking Hall, The Anna’s Tower and The Spring Theatre built in 1860 with the ballroom in Neorococo style – a place of plenty concerts, opera and theatre performances.
There are two English-style parks in the Szcawno-Zdrój resort – The Spring Park and The Swedish Park. They were created in the second half of the 19th century and they are one of the most beautiful parks in the Lower Silesia region. Hotel Camelot is located in the Swedish Park. The attractiveness of the park is determined by the richness of its plant life, with unique trees and bushes, the natural monuments, the Swedish ponds, as well as plenty of the cycle lanes and walking paths.
Near the Hotel there are also The Aqua Park, a stud farm and tennis courts.
In the upper part od the town, on the so called “The Sunny Meadow” there is also one of the best in Europe permanent cycling route for mountain biking called 4 Cross. Every year mountain biking competitions of different levels are organized there.
You can plan many interesting trips from the Szczawno-Zdrój resort. Among these the most interesting are the ones to the Wałbrzych Mountains, to Chełmiec Mountain, to the Trójgarb Range, as well as to the famous Książ Castle.
